The Metro STAR program or “Safely Transporting All Riders”, was created to provide education and outreach to Metro Customers on the importance of securing mobility devices, such as wheelchairs and Scooters, when riding on public transit.
As part of the S.T.A.R. Program:
- MMP offers training to L.A. Metro Bus Operators on how to safely secure mobility devices to keep all riders safe while traveling on a public bus.
- MMP offers Securement presentations and Securement services at outreach events throughout Los Angeles County .
- MMP offers “In-Home” Securement and Marking Services (S.A.M.) for Mobility Device users, including a Trip of the Day on transit.
